Love Dance and Gymnastics? Then AcroDance at DiLi – Dream it, Live it in Mount Isa may be the perfect class for you!

AcroDance is a fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. The AcroDance program at DiLi focuses on promoting the fundamentals of flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, tumbling, basic contortion, and partner/group stunt work for dancers. Along with these fundamentals, AcroDance also trains dancers to integrate musicality, expression, extension, control and line to ensure they have a well rounded movement vocabulary.

DiLi – Dream it, Live it  was the first organisation to introduce the Acrobatic Arts Program in Mount Isa and since then a number of dance and gymnastics providers have followed us in incorporating this fantastic program! In 2018 DiLi also introduced content from the Acrobatique program, which is a competency-based program emphasising safe training practices and providing teachers with researched and proven athletic injury-prevention tools.

At DiLi – Dream it, Live it we pride ourselves on continuous improvement and professional development to ensure we bring you the highest level of service! We also offer dance and conditioning training for gymnasts and Miss Sally has many years experience teaching and refining Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) floor and beam routines for levels 3-6. Sally has a long history in the creation and development of dance teacher training programs. She has spent many years mentoring student teachers and as part of the growth strategy within her own businesses has prioritised the development of ongoing teacher training programs to ensure teachers receive the required professional development to do their job well. That business grew in to a three-campus performing arts centre across regional Victoria and metro Melbourne. At its peak, it had over 1200 students, 40 staff, subleased to a number of associated businesses, produced regular events and offered a hub for all things related to dance, singing and acting.

Sally has extensive experience in the development of a number of purpose built commercial facilities for both her own dance studio as well as in consultation with other dance studios. She has had detailed involvement with both the hands on mechanics of setting up and managing dance studio facilities as well as the associated legal requirements including permits, licences and contracts with applicable stakeholders.

She has previously taught dance in Mount Isa as part of the Mount Isa School of Dance team, as a dance skills instructor to both the North West Gymnastics Club as well as the Leichhardt Gymnastics Club, as a primary school dance in sports teacher, as a dance skills guest teacher at Dean Irish Dancers and as the owner of Dancers R Us, which was awarded the 2015 EMO Trans Northern Outback Business Award for Service Excellence.

Sally now brings DiLi – Dream it, Live it to Mount Isa. A dance school that offers an inclusive, nurturing and fun environment whilst also incorporating life skills into the structure of each lesson plan.
